Lodhran, Pakistan

The Lodhran Pilot Project (LPP), in collaboration with Grassroots Pakistan and supported by philanthropists Jahangir Khan Tareen and Ali Khan Tareen, has once again demonstrated its commitment to transforming lives through its Free Limbs Camp. Held at 12 MPR in Lodhran, the initiative is providing artificial limbs and mobility solutions to persons with disabilities, offering them a renewed sense of independence and dignity.

Over the past two days, the camp has made significant strides in its mission. A total of 93 patients were assessed during outpatient department (OPD) sessions, with 62 individuals receiving new artificial limbs. Measurements were taken for 75 legs, catering to 58 single-leg patients and 4 individuals requiring support for both legs. Additionally, 13 limbs were repaired, while 18 cases were deemed non-eligible for the program.

Each artificial limb provided represents more than just physical support—it symbolizes hope, empowerment, and the opportunity for a brighter future. For many beneficiaries, the camp is a life-changing event, enabling them to regain mobility and reintegrate into their communities.

“Every limb we provide is a step towards restoring dignity and independence,” said a spokesperson for the Lodhran Pilot Project. “This initiative is about breaking barriers and ensuring that no one is left behind.”

The camp is a testament to the power of collaboration and community-driven efforts. Grassroots Pakistan, alongside the Tareen family, has played a pivotal role in ensuring the program’s success. Jahangir Khan Tareen and Ali Khan Tareen have long been advocates for social uplift and inclusive development, and their support has been instrumental in sustaining this transformative initiative.

Ali Khan Tareen, a passionate advocate for marginalized communities, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering inclusive societies. “Our goal is to create opportunities for those who have been overlooked,” he said. “This camp is not just about providing limbs; it’s about restoring hope and enabling people to live their lives to the fullest.”

The Free Limbs Camp is part of a broader effort by the Lodhran Pilot Project to address the needs of persons with disabilities. Since its inception, the initiative has provided artificial limbs to over 1,000 individuals and distributed nearly 300 wheelchairs, making a tangible difference in the lives of countless families.

As the camp continues, its impact resonates far beyond the numbers. For beneficiaries like 45-year-old Ahmed, who received his first artificial limb this week, the experience has been transformative. “I never thought I would walk again,” he shared. “This camp has given me a new lease on life.”

The Lodhran Pilot Project’s Free Limbs Camp stands as a shining example of how compassion, collaboration, and community action can create lasting change. By restoring mobility and hope, the initiative is not only transforming individual lives but also building a more inclusive and equitable society.
