Rawalpindi: A vibrant celebration of resilience and inclusion marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Fauji Foundation Hospital. Organized by the Department of Rehabilitation and Artificial Limb Center, the event brought together patients, professionals, and students to honor the strength and achievements of individuals with disabilities.

The program included an engaging awareness walk, a heartwarming cake-cutting ceremony, and inspiring stories of perseverance. Participants emphasized the collective responsibility to create a more inclusive society, where barriers are removed, and abilities are celebrated. Speaking at the event, Maj Gen Mahmood Sultan, HI(M) (Retd), Commandant, and Brig Khalil Ahmad, SI(M) (Retd), Administrator, reiterated the hospital’s commitment to supporting persons with disabilities through cutting-edge solutions and compassionate care. Dr. Syed Naveed Mumtaz, Head of the Artificial Limb Center and Rehabilitation Department, shared, “This day is not just about creating awareness; it’s about reaffirming our pledge to make society accessible and inclusive for everyone.” Dr. Naureen Tassadaq, Head of Physiotherapy and rehab unit emphasized the recognition of the indispensable role persons with disabilities play in society, highlighting their ongoing commitment to fostering inclusion

Nadeem Gul, PO, Consultant and Senior Manager at the Artificial Limb Center, shed light on the life-changing impact of orthotics and prosthetics. “These devices go beyond restoring mobility—they restore hope, confidence, and the ability to lead independent lives.
