KARACHI: Individuals with disabilities shared their remarkable journeys of recovery and resilience during a special event held at the Indus Hospital’s Korangi campus on Saturday.
The programme, organized by the hospital’s Physical Rehabilitation Centre (PRC) to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, highlighted the power of perseverance and inclusive healthcare.
An inclusive walk was the centerpiece of the event, led by over 50 individuals with artificial limbs, accompanied by healthcare professionals and senior hospital leadership. The walk symbolized empowerment, determination, and the potential of inclusive communities.
Dr. Amin Chinoy, Executive Director of the PRC, highlighted the transformative impact of the centre’s rehabilitation services, sharing stories of patients who regained mobility through prosthetics and mobility aids. He also updated attendees on the ongoing expansion of the Korangi campus to meet the increasing demand for rehabilitation services.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of the Indus Hospital and Health Network, reaffirmed the hospital’s mission to provide world-class healthcare free of cost. He underscored the importance of creating healthcare facilities accessible to all, emphasizing inclusivity regardless of physical or financial barriers.
