Lodhran, Pakistan : With the unwavering support of prominent philanthropists Jahangir Khan Tareen and Ali Khan Tareen, the Lodhran Pilot Project has launched its eighth annual rehabilitation camp for persons with disabilities. The initiative, which has already transformed the lives of over 1,000 individuals, offers free medical checkups, artificial limbs, and wheelchairs to those in need. Held at 12 MPR in Lodhran, the initiative is providing artificial limbs and mobility solutions to persons with disabilities, offering them a renewed sense of independence and dignity.
Over the past two days, the camp has made significant strides in its mission. A total of 93 patients were assessed during outpatient department (OPD) sessions, with 62 individuals receiving new artificial limbs. Measurements were taken for 75 legs, catering to 58 single-leg patients and 4 individuals requiring support for both legs. Additionally, 13 limbs were repaired, while 18 cases were deemed non-eligible for the program.

Since its inception, the initiative has distributed nearly 300 wheelchairs and equipped more than 1,000 individuals with artificial legs, enabling them to regain mobility and independence. For many, this marks a life-changing opportunity to overcome physical challenges and reintegrate into their communities.
Ali Khan Tareen, a passionate advocate for community development and social uplift, has been instrumental in driving the project forward. His father, Jahangir Khan Tareen, has also reaffirmed his commitment to the cause, emphasizing the importance of continuing this “selfless mission of service.”
“This camp is not just about providing artificial limbs; it’s about restoring dignity and hope to those who have faced immense challenges,” said organizers . “We are dedicated to ensuring that no one is left behind, and this initiative is a testament to that commitment.”

The Lodhran Pilot Project has become a beacon of hope for persons with disabilities in the region, offering not only physical support but also a renewed sense of purpose. The annual camp has grown in scale and impact, reflecting the community’s trust and the organizers’ dedication to sustainable change.
As the eighth edition of the camp unfolds, the Tareens’ vision continues to inspire. Their efforts underscore the transformative power of collective action and the importance of addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. With each passing year, the initiative sets a new benchmark for community-driven rehabilitation programs, proving that even small steps can lead to monumental change.
For many attendees, the camp represents more than just access to medical care—it is a chance to reclaim their lives. As one beneficiary shared, “This camp has given me the ability to walk again. It’s not just a limb; it’s a new beginning.”
